I Dream of Genie

We sometimes forget as we bemoan the demise of a favorite shops, that new designers come into SL every day. They come to create and enjoy, to try their hands at virtual retail, to do what most of us can't do in the corporeal world.  There is a new kid on the home store scene; well, there are likely many new kids, actually -- I just know about this one, Home Genie. Open only a few days, there are plenty of great low prim items to choose from.  The 1972 chairs in the background look great in red, but they morph into  three other colors as well;  a variety of poses comes in each chair. Most of Home Genie's goods are copy only, so while resizing isn't an option it is great to know that if we lose an item inworld a backup is not far away.

I have chosen a few items from the store that I feel will work for lots of folks. The Inside Out sideboard in the background is only one prim with a great taupe woodgrain texture. While my styling here today is young with a hint of retro, the long and low storage unit could easily work in an office, a dining room, a shop. The Into the Blue wardrobe is also thrifty on prims and fun with its open door. Add more collectibles if you have prims to spare, not too much though as the first rule of feng shui is "eliminate clutter" *wink*.

The Pansies for Thought pillow pile and shoe rack (sold separately) are casual and fun. The pillows have a color choice menu. Don't worry; they change in pairs so it is simpler than it appears to be. The shoe rack could also hold books or plants or even kitchen items. It is another one prim sculpty wonder.

Other newness in my homewears closet include the great shadowbox from [croire].It is simply perfect with my bed and mirror from Barcode.

The owl decal above the floor pillows is also new from [croire].

Here is a close up of the [croire] bachelor pad milk crates.  These are a little primmy, but so charming and lend a touch of that lived in look that many of us strive for.

FASHION and FREE:

Yes, there actually is some fashion and freebies stuff included in the post.  My lounging outfit hales from the POE3 hunt (earth globe with dove) at the Bottle Bird shop. A blue set in included in the pack and the complete neighborhood of layers is covered. And this set of houses is one of my gifts in the same hunt. I used the  larger 12 meter cottage as the backdrop for this post, changing the wallpaper from grass cloth to paint.

Also in the freebie news, you can pick up a full set of living room furniture including fireplace at Home Genie by joining the group.
